Celebrating Romance Authors Interview – Desiree Cox

Here is my author interview with Desiree Cox for the Celebrating Romance Authors & Their Books Event. We will be featuring Desiree’s very first Paranormal erotic romance is available now for pre-order! Holt, book 11 in the multi-author series A Wolf’s Hunger is just $0.99.

Romance in itself is so much more than a genre and with romance being mixed with so many other genres do you find that romance is versatile and can easily be mixed or challenging to incorporate with other genres?
I think there is so much versatility of the romance genre that it does make it really easy to write so many subgenres. An author’s flexibility is virtually limitless.

When it comes to writing romance who do you think does it better women or men and why?
There are so many women authors who write romance really well, but for the men who write romance, they do a phenomenal job, too. I can’t say which gender does it better, I love reading both male and female authors.

If you had to write a romance novel about your own life what would the title be?
Unbreakable Vows

What is the most romantic thing you have ever done for someone or had done for you?
I can’t say this is necessarily the most romantic, but for our 25th wedding anniversary, hubby and I got matching tattoos that say “In this life together” and ours names. Next month we will be renewing our vows while on our family vacation.
I also think it’s very romantic when we are in the mall, and hubby holds my hand.

Would you consider yourself a romantic and if so why or why not?
I definitely consider myself a romantic. Not someone who wants flowers every week or cards or anything like that, but to me, a romantic weekend can be spent with my hubby talking while we work on projects around the house. I may tell him I love him and give him a kiss, or vice versa, but it’s the quality time together.

Just for fun everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is all about romance and while we are a few months past that I am curious to know if you get into the spirit of things?
Every day is Valentine’s Day for us. We don’t do anything elaborate for that specific day.

Do you have any special links that you would like people to follow or signup for?
I’d love it if I could get people to follow me on Amazon and support my Thunderclap for my very first paranormal romance coming Aug 4th.

Who is your most beloved character based on reader feedback?
Sky, from the Lust, Desire, and Love trilogy book 1 is a reader favorite, for sure.

For those authors out there just starting out what advice can you give them as far as when it may become too much or you just need a break from the voices. What do you do when you just need to get away?
When I need a break from writing, I workout and read. And I don’t let myself feel any guild if I step away for weeks, which I’ve done. When I get back to writing, I feel refreshed and ready to go.

What platform have you found works the best for your books?
I find Amazon works best for me. Almost all of my stories are exclusively there.
