Celebrating Romance Authors Interview – Robin Rance

Here is my author interview with Robin Rance for the Celebrating Authors & Their Books Event. We will be featuring Her Mid-Life Cravings book so make sure to check it out.

Romance in itself is so much more than a genre and with romance being mixed with so many other genres do you find that romance is versatile and can easily be mixed or challenging to incorporate with other genres?
Romance can be found in any genre. I love, love and the possibilities of writing about it are endless

When it comes to writing romance, who do you think does it better women or men and why?
I would think a woman would be better at writing about romance. It is she who fantasizes about love and all the trimmings. I not sure if a man could capture those feelings the right way.

If you had to write a romance novel about your own life what would the title be?
“It was so close, I could almost taste it”

What is the most romantic thing you have ever done for someone or had done for you?
I had a man who I was dating at one time who was the head of security for a popular club. He had invited me out for dinner and at the last minute he had to work. He asked me to meet him at the club and had the staff checking on me all night long, and he had set the table up with candles and flowers for me. He stopped by every chance he could get to make sure I was well taken care of. It was heavenly.

Would you consider yourself a romantic and if so why or why not?
Absolutely, I love romance and it is something that I’ve searched for in all of my past relationships, but I just can’t seem to hold onto it. Romance can hold a couple together if they both work on it, or tear it apart if they don’t.

Just for fun everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is all about romance and while we are a few months past that I am curious to know if you get into the spirit of things?
I used to, but the romance has been gone for many years in my relationship.

Who is your most beloved character based on reader feedback?
It would be either John Smith, or Lexi Bella. They are both fan favorites

For those authors out there just starting out what advice can you give them as far as when it may become too much or you just need a break from the voices. What do you do when you just need to get away?
I like to take a few days before I start on another project to read a book. Otherwise, my mind doesn’t let go of the book that was just finished. All stories never end, it’s up to you to decide where to stop it temporarily.

What platform have you found works the best for your books?
ARC readers are great to use, but I have found over half never leave a review. Facebook is the most powerful tool by doing book promotions and takeover events.
