C. E. Black

What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
The first book I ever wrote was Enduring Kiss. I’m not sure what inspired that first book, but I think it was reading. I was just getting back to enjoying reading after quite a few years of not, and I couldn’t stop. I read all the time and one day, my own story started to form, and I thought, what the hell? And I wrote it down.

Can you tell us about your work including titles and share your amazon links?
I write paranormal romance, some more erotic than others. I think my work is a mixture of sweet and sexy. I like hot, erotic scenes, and even have a couple menage stories, but I love romance. I want to see emotion and love. I want a story to go with those naughty scenes and I hope that’s what I deliver.

My titles include, Enduring Kiss, The Perfect Mate, Second Chance, Embraced, Shifted Temptations and Cursed Desires. I also have a short story in an anthology called, The Dreams and Nightmares Anthology. You can find them and the rest of my books on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B005T10UBE. And at other retailers. Stop by my website to see links for B&N, ARe, etc.. http://ceblackbooks.weebly.com/

What drew you in to the romance genre?
You know that’s a hard one to explain. I love romance, always have. I love watching people fall in love, find each other again, or even learn new ways to love by adding to their partnership. I can’t really explain it, but that’s all I care to write about. Love.

Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
Absolutely. For the same reasons as above. I can read genres that don’t include romance, but nothing sucks me in more than a good love story.

Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
This may be surprising, but, as a teenager and young adult, I wanted to be an accountant.

Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
Very much! I hope to meet some new readers and authors. Well, new to me, anyway. 🙂

What do you to to help with writers block?
I don’t believe in writers block. There are other blocks in our lives that keep us from writing, so we must see past those in order to get down to business. But to make this short, if I’m having a hard time imagining what should happen next in my story, I lay down, close my eyes as if I might take a nap, and I may or may not fall asleep. I begin to think of the story so far and where it might go next. I kind of give the reigns, so to speak, to my characters and watch as the story unfolds itself. I think that’s a form of meditation, but I’m not sure.

If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Pantster, Impatient, Imaginative

What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
My pen name is C.E. Black. That is the only one I have, for now.

If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
Wow, one? I feel like I have a different one everyday. But the first one to come to mind is Maya Banks. I think her work is what really inspired me to start writing.

Since many of the readers that will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
If you’re looking for a fast paced story, full of action, heat, and plot; one you can’t put down until you’ve turned that last page, then pick up a book by author C.E. Black.
