What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
To My Senses was based on a short story I wrote in high school. Twenty years later I found the short story in a pile of old papers and decided to turn it into a novel. I finally self-published that book in July of 07, years before self-publishing was considered the norm.

What drew you in to the romance genre?
Love conquers all, and no matter the story, suspense, horror, paranormal, fantasy, it is always a little better with a love story thrown in. I like seeing two people overcome all the odds and become one together. It is the something we all have experienced at some point in our lives, and for myself, and I hope for others, it is the one thing that makes a story real.
Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
I love writing romance, but I confess I prefer reading history novels, biographies and research texts. I love history and those are always my go to books.
Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
I’m a vegetarian and don’t drink coffee. Could never stand the taste, despite what I write about in my books since coffee is such a mainstay of the culture in my hometown of New Orleans..
Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
Of course! I always love to share with readers and other authors. It’s a great opportunity to bond with like-minded individuals.
What do you do to help with writers block?
I drive. Whenever I can’t work out a story I get in my car and drive.
If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Character, passionate, emotional
What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
I use my name. Always have.
If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
Ian Fleming. The guy was a master at writing characters. The James Bond books, not the movies, are a real study into the mind of a character.
