What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
My first full length novel was titled The House. It’s about a woman who inherits a haunted house and what she goes through to break the house’s curse. I came up with the idea while working in a cemetery but it wasn’t the cemetery that inspired my imagination, rather the haunted happenings of the office I worked in.
Can you tell us about your work including titles and share your amazon links?
I love stories that revolve around the paranormal. So, that’s what I write. I write paranormal romance novels, some of which border on erotica (The House, The Colonial, The Reservation, Breeders, Gypsy’s Dance, Mermaid’s Sanctuary, Mistaken for a Call Girl, Remember Me, Butterfly, Her Last Request and Raziel’s Redemption). I currently have 14 titles to my credit to include a new Sci/Fi – Fantasy series (Children of Kria) and a short contemporary (Just A Dream) in the Dreams and Nightmares Anthology. I have something for every reader. I don’t stick to just one type of supernatural creature. I write about them all. Currently, my stories include… shifters, vampires, angels, aliens, witches, warlocks and fae.
What drew you in to the romance genre?
I love a good romance with twists and turns and of course a HEA (happily ever after). There’s just something about watching a relationship grow and become something more.
Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
I love just about everything fiction and have a wide variety of authors and fiction sub-genres on my books shelves.
Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
Hmmm… I have a Barbie collection that’s worth more than most people make in a month. LOL. Don’t judge me!!
Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
Yes, I can’t wait to meet all the readers that will be attending.
What do you do to help with writers block?
Work on something else, like a book cover or take a break and enjoy someone else’s hard work.
If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Edgy, Creative, Original
What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
My pen name is Charlie Daye. It’s the only I use.
If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
Many of the readers who will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
It’s where reality and the supernatural collide, bringing you face to face with your greatest fantasy and your worst nightmare; it’s where things that go bump in the night stir more than just your adrenaline.
