Danielle James

What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
Spider Web was my first book, but Out of the Dark was the first published. I woke up early one morning with a story in my head so I sat down and started typing. The rest is history.

Can you tell us about your work including titles and share your amazon links?
I am the author of the Forbidden Love Series, a six book paranormal romance series about a clan of vampires that also happen to be rock stars.

Into the Divine: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KR1NFD6

I have also written Spider Web, which takes place before Out of the Dark. It gives the background story on the characters that have cameo appearances in the series.

Phoenix is also getting his own story, and that one is due to release this summer.

I am also the author of Justified. No paranormal there, though. It is an honest, brutal story about a woman who was in an abusive relationship that eventually lands her in prison.

What drew you in to the romance genre?
I have always liked the romance genre. I enjoy JR Ward, Gena Showalter, Lori Foster, Sherilyn Kenyon, and many many more.

Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
It is although I am also a die-hard Stephen King fan. I also like James Patterson and other thriller/suspense writers.

Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
Well, yes, but I am afraid there isn’t enough swamps to hide the bodies in…
but seriously, yes. I love music and play the violin. I really enjoy classical music.

Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
I am. It is always exciting to be able to meet new fans and other authors. There is always something to learn from others.

What do you to to help with writers block?
I walk away. Sometimes I call my editor and she helps me bounce ideas around.

If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Honest. Realistic. (as much as a paranormal author can be) and romantic

What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
I do not have a pen name at this time. I started out using my real name and never thought to change it.

If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
JR Ward.

Since many of the readers that will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
My writing is a mixture of love, hate, fear, anticipation, and red hot sex all rolled into one heck of a ride that will grab you by the face and keep you until the very end. ??
