Dina Redmon

What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
Through Mistress’ Pride. The inspiration for it literally slapped me in the face. I was at a Goth themed club in Colorado and a woman walked up to me, dressed in full leather, and slapped me in the face. So…I wrote a book and killed her in it. I’ve never published it though. Hmm, maybe one of these days.
Can you tell us about your work including titles and share your Amazon links? Sure! I would love to.
Chasing Circumstance came out on April 29th of this year and is my first book released through Beau Coup Publishing. It’s a contemporary romance about Amia Durant, a forty-year-old woman, and her journey to discovering love. There are all kinds of ups, downs, and sideways in this book…and that’s just the sex scenes. *wink* It’s been rated at a 4.8 stars out of 27 reviews on Amazon and I am so thankful to the people who have taken the time to write reviews.
To Speak of it Again was released through Beau Coup Publishing on June 1st of this year as well. It is more of a saga type novel and tells the life story of Maggie Reed from birth to the age of forty. It’s a tale of strength and perseverance and one woman’s determination to keep moving forward no matter the roadblocks put in front of her. Amazon reviewers have rated it with an average of 4.9 stars with a total of 28 reviews.

What drew you in to the romance genre?
I love the limitless storylines the genre allows for. Contemporary, paranormal, historical, gothic, regency, romantic suspense…I could go on and on.

Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
I know it’s a generic answer, but I love most genres. I don’t like to get pigeonholed into one specific category, but instead prefer to read anything that strikes my interest. If it takes my breath away, I must have it.

Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?

I sure can try. My life is pretty much an open book, so let me think about that for a minute…
Hmm…yep, still thinking…
OH! I KNOW!!!
I seldom sit with my feet on the floor because I watched the movie The Blob when I was a toddler and it scared the &#(% out of me!
Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event? Abso-freaking-lutely!!! I love events where I get to interact with readers and other authors. J Thanks for hosting it! <3

What do you to help with writers block?
I tend to bounce between writing projects or work on a painting. As long as I’m doing something creative to keep the thoughts going, it helps.

If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Does the one o fa kind count?

What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
I don’t use one. Sorry, no mystery here…I’m just me.

If you had to pick a favorite author, who would it be?
Nathaniel Hawthorne-always has been and always will be.

Since many of the readers that will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans, if you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence, what would it be?
I write the same way I would tell you the story if we were sitting around chatting.
In all things ~ Love yourself.
