Krissy V

What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
My first book I wrote I haven’t published yet, at the moment it is titled “My One Regret” but I think I might change that. I have beta read for the last couple of years for a handful of authors and I have also read books for review. My work load was getting large as I work full time and have 2 children. A friend said that I should be able to write my own books after all the beta reading I have done so I said what the hell why not give it a go! Nanowrimo was on at the time and I entered and managed to do the 50,000 words in 30 days and then when friend read it they said yeah go for it. so I did!

What drew you in to the romance genre?
I love a good romance book! Something to lose myself in and believe in a perfect man and a perfect world instead of reality! It is a great escape!

Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
I love reading romance but I am also a great paranormal reader, so any story with both of those genres is a hit for me. I love thrillers like Kathy Reichs and Casey Hill.

Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
I am half norwegian and I love Ice Skating, I have completed the first 10 levels so I can do spins and different moves on the ice. I am in my 40’s so learning to ice skating properly after I turned 40 is a strange thing to do!

Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
Hell yeah! I love Fang Tastic and anything she does is always great fun. I adore takeovers and I know that everyone who is there is there to have fun.

What do you to to help with writers block?
Touch wood that hasn’t happened to me yet, although i have reached a part in my book where I can seem to get anywhere so I just type pad it out and move onto the next chapter. Then when I am revising it then it comes to me and if it doesn’t then I trim it down.

If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
Descriptive, dark, sarcastic

What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
My author pen name is Krissy V and I only have that one. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have other personalities inside me because I do. My real name is a name that can be shortened in various ways and where I work, for example, they all call me something different. It’s a bitch when I come to writing Christmas cards.

If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
For me my favourite author of all time would be Jackie Collins, she writes trashy, bitchy, funny romance and I would read any of her books whenever they come out.

Since many of the readers that will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
My books take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, so strap yourself in and enjoy this dark, emotional story of how marriage can go wrong!
