Stacey Mosteller

What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
The first book I wrote was called Save Me From Myself. I’d actually started Everything I Shouldn’t and the characters that ended up in Save Me From Myself wouldn’t stop “talking” so I wrote their book first 🙂

Can you tell us about your work including titles and share your amazon links?
Never Wanted More is a prequel novella in the Nashville Nights series. It’s about Peyton, a girl who’s got a little bit of an attitude, using it to keep people away. Wyatt is a nice guy, who wants to break down the walls she keeps up around herself and get to know her. http://amzn.to/1gh2Trt

Save Me From Myself is the first book in the series. It’s about Lyric, a girl who is running from her past and familial expectations. She moves from Manhattan to Nashville to start over and immediately meets David, a bar owner who’s determined to get to know her. http://amzn.to/1j8BvJs

Everything I Shouldn’t is the second book in the series. It’s about SarahBeth, David’s sister, and Jeremy, her brother’s best friend and a guy she’s known her entire life. The book goes back five years to chronicle events that show how their relationship grew into events that happened in Save Me From Myself. http://amzn.to/1pnF7OA

Second Chances is a standalone novel cowritten with H.M. Ward. It’s a book about love, loss, grief and moving on. Genevieve loved her husband deeply, he was her soulmate and they were trying to start a family when he was taken away from her. Finding herself pregnant and alone, she struggles to move on with her life, unable to let him go. She becomes close friends with the college guy who her husband hired to take care of their lawn when he was a teenager, but is torn about deepening the relationship. http://amzn.to/1llaiCQ

What drew you in to the romance genre?
I love romance novels, always have. I like stories about sweet guys, alpha males, rock stars – the whole crew – and I have so many book boyfriends 🙂

Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
It definitely is! I can’t even tell you the last romance book I read that I didn’t fall in love with 🙂

Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
I’m extremely shy. Facebook and Twitter are easier because I can hide behind my computer and pretend you aren’t real – but in person, I’m a mess!

Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
I am very excited! I love being part of events and meeting new authors and readers – as long as they’re online 😉

What do you do to help with writers block?
Watch silly teen movies like What A Girl Wants and Step Up – my husband swears that I’m a 15 year old trapped in a 30-something body!

If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
procrastinating, busy, crazy!

What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
I don’t use a pen name. Maybe I should have because Mosteller is hard to pronounce!

If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
Oh don’t do that to me! I have so, so many! Emily Snow, H.M. Ward, Abbi Glines, SC Stephens, Kendall Ryan, Lauren Blakely, Aly Martinez, Tessa Teevan, the list goes on and on and on!

Many of the readers who will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
Oh jeez – I have no idea. Hmmm… According to my husband it’s that story and character development are the things I concentrate on most; I want the reader to feel like they are right there with the characters, that it plays like a movie in their head. Hopefully I succeed 🙂
