What was the first book you ever wrote and what inspired you?
Tainted Desire is the first book in my Desire Series. I have always wanted to write a book, but never seemed to have the courage until a close friend/co-worker decided to write one. I will admit, I let her take the plunge first. The process didn’t seem that bad and I saw the joy that it brought her when she published, so I decided to put my fears aside and take the plunge. I’m so glad I did.

I can hear Cameron and Courtney’s voices over the machines as they talk, but as hard as I try I still cannot open my eyes. I feel like I am in the twilight zone, my limbs are still too heavy to move but my mind is aware of what people are saying. ~~Kylie

What drew you in to the romance genre?
I will admit that I was clueless to the whole Indie community until my friend introduced me to it and that’s when I truly started reading romance/erotica novels. Then I thought to myself, I can do this. I’m currently branching out to write a YA novel as well so my daughter can actually read one of my books. The ones I write now she can read when she is 30 years old.
Is romance your favorite genre to read as well as write?
Now, yes! A few years ago my answer would have been, no. I was more of a mystery murder kind of gal………James Patterson, Harlan Coben, John Sanford, etc.
Can you tell me something about yourself that may surprise your readers?
We have 5 TV’s in the house and I never watch television, like ever! However, it sure keeps my family occupied so I can write.
Are you excited to be a part of the upcoming Ropin Romance event?
Extremely excited. I love being a part of new things and helping out in any way I can. I think the launch of Ropin Romance is going to be very successful and I am honored to be asked to be a part of it.
What do you do to help with writers block?
Ugh, I just went through a long dry spell. I released two books within 6 months then had no desire to write. I took some time off, enjoyed my family, read other peoples books, and now I am ready to type away again.
If you had to choose three words to describe what type of writer you are what would they be?
What is your author pen name and do you have more than one?
I actually started with the pen name Laci Storm but I decided I was going to own this as mine so I decided to use my real name. I ended up never publishing under Laci. I was a bit worried about my job, but figured they can’t control what I do with my spare time and I don’t promote at work, however I found that others promote me there and about died when the top dog administrator of the hospital approached me to congratulate me on publishing a book. When she asked what genre I had a double coronary until she said, “Like FSOG?” then she said, “Cool!” I died three times during that conversation.
If you had to pick a favorite author who would it be?
This question is so unfair, where’s the dislike button. Okay, okay, if I have to narrow it down to one, it would have to be Angel Steel. Her books are super steamy and she is a great friend that always took the time to answer my endless questions, as well as one hell of a formatter.
Since many of the readers that will be seeing this interview and participating in the takeover will be new fans. If you had to describe your writing style and books in a single sentence what would it be?
Steamy, sassy, and humorous with a devious twist.
